Maison Pépouze — Legal
Cookie Policy
Last updated: 15/07/2026
Maison Pépouze uses cookies and similar technologies to ensure our website functions properly, improve your browsing experience, and better understand how visitors use our website. This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which cookies we use, and the choices available to you.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your computer, tablet or smartphone when you visit a website.
They help websites to:
- remember certain information during your visit;
- improve website performance;
- enable essential features;
- measure website traffic and usage;
- personalize your browsing experience.
Cookies do not directly identify you as an individual.
2. What Cookies Do We Use?
Depending on the features available on our website, Maison Pépouze may use the following categories of cookies.
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the proper functioning of the website. They enable features such as:
- page navigation;
- website security;
- session management;
- proper display of website content.
Because these cookies are necessary for the website to function, they do not require your consent.
Analytics Cookies
Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website so we can improve its content, performance and user experience. These cookies may collect information such as:
- the number of visitors;
- the most visited pages;
- the time spent on the website;
- navigation paths.
Where required by applicable law, these cookies are only placed after you have given your consent.
Preference Storage
We store your cookie choice in your browser’s local storage so that we do not have to ask you again on every page. This is first-party storage and does not require your consent.
Third-Party Services We Actually Use
The following third-party services are used on this website:
- Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd.) — audience measurement. Loaded on all pages with Google Consent Mode v2, but no analytics cookies are set unless you accept analytics.
- Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Ireland) — anonymous usage statistics and heatmaps. Loaded on all pages in a consent-denied state; it collects nothing unless you accept analytics.
- Brevo (Sendinblue SAS) — hosts our newsletter subscription form on the “Letters from your friend in Provence” page. The form and its script are only loaded when you interact with the form.
- Google reCAPTCHA — protects the newsletter form against spam. It is only loaded when you interact with the newsletter form, and it may set cookies at that point.
- Google Fonts — supplies the typefaces used on the site. It sets no cookies, but your IP address is transmitted to Google when the fonts are downloaded.
We do not use Google Tag Manager, Google Maps, embedded videos, an appointment-scheduling tool, a payment platform, or any advertising or social-media tracking pixel. Each third-party provider applies its own privacy and cookie policies.
3. Your Consent
On your first visit, a consent banner asks you how you want to be measured.
You can choose to:
- accept all — analytics (Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity) are enabled;
- reject all — only necessary first-party storage is used;
- manage preferences — enable or disable the analytics category yourself.
Until you make a choice, analytics remain switched off: Google Analytics runs in Consent Mode v2 with all storage denied, and Microsoft Clarity is set to consent denied. No analytics cookies are placed.
You may update your choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page.
4. Cookie Retention
Cookies are stored for a limited period in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
The retention period depends on the type and purpose of each cookie. Your consent preferences are also retained for the period required by applicable legislation.
5. Managing Cookies
You can manage cookies at any time by:
- updating your preferences through our Cookie Settings;
- deleting cookies from your browser;
- configuring your browser to block some or all cookies.
Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of some parts of the website.
6. Third-Party Cookies
When you accept analytics, or when you interact with the newsletter form, the providers listed in section 2 (Google, Microsoft, Brevo) may place their own cookies on your device.
Maison Pépouze does not control these cookies.
For more information, we encourage you to consult the privacy and cookie policies of the relevant third-party providers.
7. Changes to This Cookie Policy
Maison Pépouze may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect:
- changes in applicable laws or regulations;
- technical developments to the website;
- new services or features.
The most recent version will always be available on this page.
